Hi
All things come to those who wait!!!
Perhaps Mick Grinter can help us out on this one.
I imagine it is a rebuild for a rich Yank but we can live in hope?
How is progress on the darwin rebuild?

Got a copy of Flightpath today and it mentions that it's an early model Corsair and that it'll be returning to the U.S. after restoration. Perhaps Rob Mears can suggest which one it might be.
Cheers,
Matt

Guys
There were be a couple of pages on what's going on at Murrays' in the next edition of 'Classic Wings' which is off to the printers next week. It will hopefully answer some of your questions
Dave
p.s. John, no sign of that CD yet. Are you posting from Vietnam now ?

Hi Dave
Sorry I just saw the reference to the CD - didn't scroll down far enough!
Small administrative hassel at home - CD is on the way tomorrow as delegated family member didn't post as directed by parent - my fault.
PS I just got back from Vietnam and still a little jetlagged but was worth the effort - 2 X Bearcats and 18 skyraiders. I am going back next month to finish off. It will all have to come out soon or it won't be worth the effort.

John
No problem thanks..thought it might have got lost.
Me a tease? ...well I don't know.... someone who was a tease would say something like.... ' Hey Mr Mears...there will also be a couple of pics of TWO Corsairs in North Korea'.
Of course I wouldn't do such a thing

You ARE a tease!!
I've been waiting a long time to see how complete the wreckage is in Korea. As I understand it, these are battlefield pick-ups rather than complete, undamaged aircraft.
Direct me to proper location and I'll buy a subscription to Classic Wings today. Should have done it a lot sooner!
I can't speak to the aircraft arriving in Mr. Griffiths shop either. An educated guess would be that it's the Ross Jowitt FG-1D, but I spoke to Ross not long ago. Someone would have to have put that plan together in a hurry.
The other most likely project would be Duane Doyle's FG-1D, with the Dave Etchell bird being the long shot. It'll be a nice suprise to find out!

Hi John, progress is fairly slow with only Nobby on the machine fulltime & me part-time.Most of the structural work has been completed, the outer wings needed a lot of reskinning and there were corrosion issues inside the tailplanes. All the gear is now installed as is all new hydraulic tubing.Nelson Ezell is building up a complete firewall forward package which should be done next year.We are currently working on the control system as well as the manufacture of the oil cooler lower ducts.
Best Regards,Pete

Hi STURMVOGEL 262
I wouldn't get too upset yet I think the plan is to fly it in Aus for some time and there is a lot of inward movement of types at present so it isn't all doom and gloom -
