This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Something only the very brave or the very foolhardy care to contemplate.
Also Rob.
I might have mastered the smilies but not the other stuff and while I admire and respect Ray Hanna as a pilot I wouldn't get you to drive all the way to Chailey just so I could kiss him.
Fundamental difference there I think.
Cheers

Shouldn't you be making a nuisance of yourself, sorry, volunteering, somewhere else today?

By now then, I imagine that you know what 'You're in the dog house' is in Polish too.
Don't get too excited opening the box.

The I-16 rata (rat) had several other nicknames including the hawk.

Boys, Hawk translates to "Buse" in French.
A Falcon would have to be a "Faucon"!
Sorry to disappoint the lot...

Mike,
Some of the nicknames for the I-16 here:

The Russians called it 'hawk' to name but one.

Paul

Hmmm.
Is that Quebec French or French from France old boy?
Any variants on the word Hawk you like are welcome...

It's French French.
A Hawk is a Buse, and a Faucon is a Falcon.
We don't invent bird names over here, we just shoot and eat them!
