The Brown Coveralls are almost to the thread, exact copies of the actual Vought and Sikorsky WWII flight line coveralls (Sikorsky had the winged "S" on them, both front and back). We even had former employees come up and ask us where we had found the cache of old coveralls!
It really was a great touch and it was so close to not happening that they didn't get to the show until Friday morning!

Hey Kid, nice shots there. I sure like the Chance Vought shirt. Wish I would have had one of those back in the old days when I crewed "Angle Of Okinawa" some for Merle Gustafson. :D

I'll gladly take a pair of those brown coveralls if you guys find a spare set hanging around, or decide to make new ones. 8) I'll betcha there might be a decent niche market for repro-garb like that.

Nothing yet Mark.
It's going to be a big battle, as the local Marine Corps League claims ownership and has stated that they'd rather see it fall off the pole than someone else get it, even it's kept inside ON THE AIRPORT!
They have no money to do anything other than painting every couple of years. They say that is preserving it!
It was also stated that if the plane did come down to be "restored" than it had to go back up, because it's a "monument" to the Marines. Some representative to honor the Marines!
A corroding, rotting, faded hulk on a pole that will fall off one day!
We're working on trying to do something, and when we start to move, I'll need everybody's support to do what's right for the aircraft and the memory of the Marines it honors.
I'll keep everyone posted.

Have not seen them in years, but we had a few from Curtiss...............they were white (of all things) with Curtiss on the back in RED.

I should have some made for the NAF
