When I visited Dayton on Wednesday, I was told by someone who had just visited the restoration hangars that they had Memphis Belle spread out all over the floor of one of the hangars on long-term rebuild.

Yet earlier today, Memphis Belle landed at Columbus to take part in the Mustang Gathering. They must have worked really quickly to put it together again in just a day or so.

Or is somthing else going on here? I think we should be told.

That could well be so, as Tallichet's is a G-model and this one had no chin turret.

Apparently some Mustang owners are so cheap that they don't paint their airplane; they just borrow the colors from another one down the flightline. Look closely, and you'll see what I mean.
