Flying P-40's How many ?

Tue Oct 16, 2007 9:53 pm

Greetings
I was taking a moment today to Remember Tex Hill and I got to thinking (That is Scarey ) How many P-40's are flying today ? And how many are flying in Tex Hill Combat markings ? Did he fly in more than one type of P-40 even after the formation of the 23 Fighter Sq. I know that he also flew in a P-51 B. Were their others ? I know that I got off task of the first ? But these seem to pop into my head too ! As always thanks in advance to one and all that respond to my mindless ?'s

It would appear that there are 22 flying P-40's. That's after a quick look at the warbird registry.

I imagine there might be some missing, or some that have recently taken to the air again.

That's the best I can do to answer your question.

Cheers,

David
