Warbird Information Exchange

On my way in to the office today I noticed Evergreens Supertanker parked at the Houston IAH cargo ramp. This one has a red tail and says "Evergreen Supertanker" on the side. I couldnt really see to much because of the blast fencing being in the way. Does anyone know if the supertankers also haul freight?? this is the first time ive seen this a/c here. Anyone have any ideas?

I understand one of the features of the 747 tanker was that it could haul freight and then be changed over to the tanker. If you check UTube there is a fairly long video about its capabilities (You can search WIX first, I got the post through here)

Of course I also understand the SuperTanker Program is dead too.

Evergreen does have a fleet of cargo planes and they have an office in Houston.

I believe that I heard the Supertanker project was abandoned after the USFS decided the plane could not safely be flown at the low altitudes necessary for fire work. I could be wrong, but that's what I heard.
