I am traveling with a friend of mine to Ok city this Sunday and I've convinced him to go over to the base to check it out. Is their heritage park display available to the puplic or are they "on base"?
Thanks.

Steve,
You can see her from the street that runs parallel to the north Base perimeter fence, but I do not know the procedure needed to actually get into the display area. By the way, that airplane was produced in Omaha at virtually the same time as the 509th CG Silverplate birds, complete with Curtiss props and other mods.

Steve, The aircraft are very nicely displayed on the North side of the base at the Air Depot Exit on the south side of I-40 and you can reach them without having to go on base. The only aircraft that requires going on-base is the EC-121 that is stashed back by the E-3 offices and hidden away. The aircraft displayed include A-7, B-52, B-47, B-29, C-47, F-105, and I think an F-4.... Hope this helps.

Look on Google Earth. It appears that the display birds (with the exception of the Constellation) are in an area outside the fence with a public parking area adjacent to it. I would call the base public affairs office to be sure... (405) 739-2026
