Zane - Based on the location, date and my memory, the D.VII replica in the top picture was owned by Dr. Stanley L. Morel and had an uprighted Ranger engine. I never saw it fly and I'm not sure what happened to it.

The Dr.I Triplane replica is not mine or one that I flew or ever saw, so I'm afraid I can't help there. Fly safe.

Zane: The DR-1 was probably one of Bob Ralston's aircraft. Bob had a pretty good start of a collection of WW1 aircraft replicas. Most were pretty rough in more ways than one.......Bob was killed in his Eindecker replica when it went down a few months after he moved off of Aero Valley.

I'm pretty sure that Stan Morel's Fokker D.VII is the one that's now in the museum at Pensacola.

Ztex, you might try running the pics past these folks in the replica forum
www.theaerodrome.com/forum/replica-aircraft

Might also run 'em past the VAHF folks in Kingsbury..one of the members'
dad is a seasoned old timer in the Calif. WW1 stuff, IIRC.

Zane - the D.VIII replica looks like one that Bob Ralston had at the old Aero Valley airport for a while.

Airnutz...Thanks for the link!

I found more info on the D-VII, it is indeed the one at Pensacola.

On the others...
There is a Robert K. Ralston of Athens, TX shown as owner of a D-VIII and a Dr-I...any idea if these aircraft are still flying?
