Actually, there were a bunch 'found' by the Royal Afghan Air Force in the 1970s, IIRC, and they were snapped up by various museums. Two went to Rockliffe, resulting in one ground runner, plus a fuse frame now back in the UK, one to the RAF Museum, displayed today in Afghan colours, and one (this one) to the Shuttleworth collection. This was painted in Afghan colours for the first couple of years, I believe as part of the arrangement when obtained, then went into 15 Sqn RAF (XV) colours which it has worn since.
I'll ask Robbo or someone with a DSLR and talent to post a current photo of it...
