My Dad said that a engine is being overhauled right now and should be done hopefully by late january or early february and then he's going back to texas to install in Sabre... As far as Heritage Flight Conference, I'm not sure, but I guess it could be possible if done in time and since it's already half way there...

Can we get an update on the status of Dale and the F-86 Sabre this year? I know there is a Sabre planned for Andrews AFB in May, but I was thinking maybe that was Ed Shipley.

I hope that Dale will have a Sabre to fly in Heritage Flights sometime this year.

Thanks. :)

Who's CF-5F is it? I don't think there are too many of those in civilian hands in flying condition.

The updated Andrews AFB JSOH air show website shows Dale Snodgrass listed as a performer with a picture of former Sabre that was owned by the late Wyatt Fuller:

So it looks more and more like Dale will be flying a Sabre there which I presume may be the Cavanaugh Sabre with it's "new engine?"

I apologize for the jumbled quote combining things from myself and krlang in the previous post. Just ignore it and read the rest of the post by itself. :(

Sure wish they had an edit feature, oh well...

I am not sure if there was anything seriously wrong with the "Skyblazers" Sabre Dale Snodgrass was flying for several years, but it flew its last shows around May last year. I think someone said that it was going to be on static display somewhere down in Florida, but I don't remember the details.

Looking forward to seeing the "new" Sabre in action.

The F-86 has been deleted off the ACC HF schedules for many of the proeviously listed air shows. It looks like Dale Snodgrass will not be bringing a Sabre to Andrews, Cherry Point and other shows.

Does anyone have any updated news on the status of the Cavanaugh Flight Museum Sabre he was going to fly. It seems to be coming quite an extended effort to get this bird back in the air since the blown engine last September.

No, he didn't. Dale will fly the CFM Sabre for Heritage. The F86 engine failed and another is in test cell.
