Info wanted on 78th FG pilot Kenneth Dunaway

Fri May 16, 2008 10:49 pm

I was wondering if anybody has any information on this pilot;

Lt. Kenneth P Dunaway Jr.
78th FG, 83rd FS
Bailed out of P-47D #42-22776, (HL-U) on 1 Sept 44, after third strafing run on a train in Belgium. He evaded capture and was sent home.

I was helping my Uncle move into an assisted living facility last week and was fortunate enough to meet and speak with Mr. Dunaway. A wonderful man and I wish I could've spent more time with him.

I'd like to see if anyone has any other information on him and especially if there are photos of him or his P-47. It seems he doesn't have any photos and I'd like to get him some.

Thanks so much.
Jerry

Jack;
Who's better than you!!!!
That's great! Thanks so much for posting that.
I'm going to send it to my Uncle and have him give it to Ken. He might already have it, but it should give my Uncle something to talk about with him.
My Uncle Joe, BTW, was in the Battle of the Bulge, so I know HE has stuff to talk about!
Thanks Jack.
