Spitfire, where are they now?

How many countries have Spitfires flying?

I can think of the newest must be Neu Zeland? i think is how you spell their name? with a sale of a twin seater Spitfire there recently.

Sweden gained a single seat Spitfire i have read recently?

USA has i think 5? and the UK has the daddys lot - 54 which fly? and more to come?

What other countries does one find the Spitfire in?

Here is a little spreadsheet I prepared for publication last year. It might need the gentlest of refreshing.

It lists all the Spitfires that have flown since the Battle of Britain film of 1969, and their current status.

Here's two Seafires I saw and photographed just this last Friday (May 23rd) over in Columbia, Missouri. The first one is (I think) Seafire F. XV SR462 N462VX and i don't know what the other Seafire is.

Nice shots Mark. Thanks for posting.

The camouflaged Seafire is PR503 and had its first engine runs a couple of weeks ago, so not too far away from flying.

Was it really 1972 that I supplied parts at the commencement of this restoration with the CWH?

Can anybody confirm that civil registration for SR462. I have it as N9413Z.

Someone has passed onto me in private, that in Australia there are 3 Spitfires that have just joined their flying registry recently - maybe a seafire and some spitfires are to fly down that way?

Anyone have confirmation on such rumours?

VH-CIP & VH-CIQ

Pure guess?

VH-CIP 'Construction number 3074' so BS164
VH-CIQ 'Construction number: 5406 so MA353
