They don't look like Dzus fastener from inside do they - looks more like a nutplate

I studied the turret dome when I got to the hangar this morning. For once, I was correct about a guess I made.
Here are a couple of photos to confirm that the little windows are Dzused in.
I still haven't found an armaments manual to tell me what operations were performed through the openings.

My grandfather was the Ball Turret gunner in a 91st bomb group B-17G!
See the shortest person in the shot? Makes sense, he was the one that crammed himself into the sphere. Very brave man to be a B-17 gunner of Germany, especially since he was Jewish. With a name like Harold Lieberman on his dogtags he couldn't hide it either!
