Robert Tullius/PT-26A

Sun Jul 13, 2008 8:10 am

Hi,
Yes, this is the same person.

He has a private aviation museum at Sebring, FL, housing ten exhibits including PT-26A, N75LD, (source: 'Aviation Museums and Collections of North America' - B. Ogden/Air Britain).

Robert Tullius also donated a prime example of the P-51D to the RAF Museum at Hendon. This is well displayed on a slowly rotating stand.

A link to the Museum website page on the exhibit:

I recall spending sometime around the display a couple of years ago photographing the P-51D from various angles.

And for those that just can't get enough pics of this Cornell...a link to a few more of her arrival at Crites--including cameo appearance of a certain T-33 driver.

So, is Scott Dennison in any of these pics?

Danny Boy, for the life of me can't figure out what happened! Must have worn it off somehow, but remember, I told you it was a disguise. 8)

Here are a couple shots of the new tow bar and plugs for the Cornell. Should make it real easy to move about at Oshkosh. 8)

Nice work on those, Scott.

But I'm afraid you'll get laughed at if you request a tug at OSH for a lil' ol' Cornell. You fella's down at Crites must be gettin' soft in yer old age!

Any idea where she'll be tied down at OSH yet?

Dan, can't take any credit for the bar. I'm only the plug guy.

Was hoping to have the supercharged hemi golf cart to tow with but it won't be done... I'm sure they have a Jeep at their disposal.

My understanding is it will be at the CAF hangar 57 tent.

beautiful..

wow, scott, those plugs look beautiful.. nice job! Thanks so much for making
them. Did you put them in as well? Mark will really like those.. :-).
Did you make the bars as well?

I'm going through pt26 checkout withdrawl... :-)...

henning

ps. its my understanding that the CAF tent / area is on the main drag (walkway)
about half way between the warbirds area and aeroshell square, which is where
the pt26 is supposed to be parked there as well all week.

Thanks Henning. Installation was included free of charge and if you act within the next 10 minutes, you can receive a clapper and two pounds of "wonder putty"!

I had nothing to do with the tow bar but it is really a nice piece. I'm just the schmuck that whittled the plugs and installed them. So simple, even a child can do it!

See ya soon, oh master of the Cornell! :prayer:
