Ha! Try the 48th scale conversion by koster.Really nice.I would work on Tallichets17 all day and then go home and work on B-17 models.SICK,SICK,SICK but alot of fun.Believe me you would get real picky if you really know what you are modeling.

I have worked on a few of the real B-17's out there, so I know what you mean that when you make a model, you get more anal about it.

As a guy who has worked on Hercs for 23+ years it is not unusual for exhaust grime to flow back from areas that are not exhaust vents (any area behind the engines). On Hercs it will come from the liferaft tub liner doors. I would think it would be the same for the B-17?

Thanks for the pics MustangDriver the two B-17's look good together 8)

How cool would it be if SSSB flew over to Udvar-Hazy.

That would be cool, but they are not going to do it. It will be trucked.

Why not? It's not like they would run out of gas and have to ditch it in the water or anything.

Oops, wait, that already happened!

It's funny to see The Swoose on that yellow stand, still.

I took this picture at Silver Hill almost 30 years ago.

Sorry to hear Shoo Shoo Baby will be leaving. I kind of liked the idea of three B-17's on display one day in Dayton. How about this for a photo opportunity, before Shoo Shoo baby departs place them all together out on the ramp for a public photo shoot!

I think for the moment they should assemble the Swoose and put her on display as is. Until her time to get restored that is. Would make a photo op of the 3 Fortress more likely and the public would get a chance to enjoy the Swoose for the 1st time in a long time.

Her time is now. Restoration, documentation, and preservation are starting right away.

Chris, What if anything did they have to move out of the shop in order to get the Swoose in? I know there is only so much room in the restoration area.
