Here is a lousy video of the CAF's B-24 on our right wing. Carl, Mark and Paul did a great job of formation flying for the show. How cool to get the two aircraft together and at Willow Run of all places.

What were you in to get those fantastic ramp shots?

i would have to say that he is on top of the hangars where the YAF are. as far as having another thread about TOM..... the more the marrier, some of us couldnt get away/afford to go OSH or TOM. even if it is killing me to look at all that was there. on the bright side i get to come to your place first weekend in october and maybe have the family go up for a ride, first time i get to share my love of warbirds in such a way.

the B24 on the far left is the one I saw a month or so ago and came in here excited about! Love that tail!

man, Taigh, you are one lucky feller. ONe day I want to see them all swinging over an airfiled in formation. Must be something!

I'll say it here, and everywhere else I can find it mentioned (or shown)...
I want to thank everyone, including the Collings Foundation, for making the flight of two B-24's happen! It may sound hokie, but from the time I started the conversion of Ol' 927, it was a goal of mine to get both B-24's in the air together. I don't miss touring with the airplane at all, but I must admit I'm jealous of those who got to go on that flight. It must've been a great feeling!

Thank you!!!

Gary

Great shots Taigh. They look like model airplanes on the ramp.

Any idea how long it has been since two B-24's flew together? 8)

WOW! Very cool!!

I thought that the Collings B-24 and "Diamond 'Lil" both flew at Oshkosh one year, but maybe I'm mistaken. Does that count as "two B-24s" flying together?

Here are a couple I took from Ol'927!

Hey Dave,

Great shots! Can I trade you full resolution shots of Ol'927 for the same of Witchcraft?

Thanks,

Taigh

Great looking pair of bookends for those B-17s'.

The ball turret was lowered for the show on Saturday and Sunday. it takes too much time to get someone into and out of the ball so I just swung the turret around from the outside while we flew down the crowd line.

I asked Roger Cain if anyone noticed the turret moving and he said that they noticed it later after they looked at the photographs. I figured that if it wasn't that visible then I wouldn't bother doing it for Sunday. I just lowered it and turned it with the guns toward the crowd. In the air to air photos it looks like the guns are pointed at Ol' 927 which was not intentional.

Selfishly this was much better for me as I was able to spend more time at the waist window looking at the awesome sight of Ol' 927 next to us.

It was a great weekend!

Taigh,

You should have yelled down at me to get out of your picture! Thats me in the first shot down towards the lower right. I was down there trying to get some good shots as well! It was good to see almost half of the flying B-17's in the US there for the show. It brought back some memories of the B-17 gathering a few years back.
