I have this on my back and another eagle on my shoulder. I almost did some Don Allen stuff like the art from Iron Ass but I decided on this, nothing beats classic Disney.

and Ryan, beautiful ink man!! I'm working on finidhing a half sleeve on my right arm of traditional stuff (Von Dutch style flying eyeball, skull, and the broken, stabbed, burning heart brought about by my last divorce) and starting a first nations sleeve on my left arm-
(for those of you who don't know what first nations is, it's Northwest Coastal indigenious art from local up through the Queen Charlotte Islands)

I once suggested to my wife that if we had twins, the names could have been "Pratt" and "Whitney", or "Rolls" and "Royce". Her suggestion was "McDonnell" and "Douglas". There never has been an occasion to use these suggestions, although my son overheard this discussion and subsequently named his two guinea pigs "Rolls" and "Royce".

Gal I knew in the UK had identical cats named Ar$e & Elbow....

I have worked many 12+ hour days on my warbirds, have many clothes with oil on them, have tasted 100LL, have a very sweaty flight suit from those many hours of warm summer flying, have lost blood from those airplanes, and have enjoyed the whole process.

How about adding to that a nice warm mouthful of 5606? It may look like Kool-Aid, but I'm sure we all know it don't taste like it!

I have been seriously considering getting a tattoo of a B-24 tail on my upper left arm. But not just any 24 tail of course but my grandfathers aircraft. Of course i cant find any good color photos, but heres a black and white of the actual.

http://www.b24bestweb.com/queenofhearts-v4-1.htm

I'd like to get it as exact as possible. Right down to the tail code and maybe the rivets too.

(Color scheme: Red background w. white skull and cross-bombs. Horizontal red and white stripes. Blue vertical line separating the rudder.)

If anyone has a pic of a b-24 tail straight on and very clear, id be most appreciated.

I'm getting a tatto of a P-47 (similar to the art work on the cover of the P-"P-47 Aces of the 8th A.F.")... can't wait ;) always am on here, and discussing them with even the hint that some one likes the ol' gals.

I couldn't find the story at the shop's site. There was nothing in the gallery.

Cool piece. Is it supposed to be WWII though? The wrong insignia... forever? Yikes.

This may not be exactly what you need, but here is a side-on shot of Connell's Special after being sent back to the States and made into a B-29 gunnery trainer:

Hope it helps,

From what I got from the artist was that it was done on a fellow artist that wanted something with a P-47, but stylized. He liked the newer insignia better, so they went for it. Certainly wasn't what I would have done, but then again, I have different motivations too.

Hey Chad, I have been thinking of doing a Hot Rod theme tattoo site similar to TattoosInFlight.com - want to be an Associate Editor? :-)
