Wow.

I was looking at bidding on this, but thought it easily would have gone for 10 times what it sold for - so decided to look in other directions. I just had no idea it would go that low.

Makes you wonder if we will see other project prices start to drop or is this was just a freak auction that everyone passed on.

Kinda feel bad for the seller as they must be very disappointed and wishing they had put a reserve price on the auction.

Sure wish i had been there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :roll:

From what I understood, what you saw in the photos was all that was in the auction. No wings, no tail feathers - just a bare fuselage.

Just the same, I think someone went to bed tonight with a pretty big grin on their face. Perhaps the deal of the decade - simply amazing. Now who knows how high the bidding would have gone if another interested party had been there bidding...I certainly get the impression only one serious bidder was there. A very lucky person - whoever they are.

Hey I totally agree. The winning bidder got a fantastic deal. Had I known about it I would have bid as well. My museum's got a centre section of a Hurricane but in far worse condition than that, and much less complete.

I hope that will ALL the money the buyer saved, he/she will restore it all nice like.
