You really need to try the clown college on Renton Ave. in Renton , WA. for your next importation or exportation-those morons commanded by the politically appointed, knows zero about an airplane female (who, incidently thinks ALL warbirds should be melted down for beer cans), can easily F#%k up a soup sandwich and make you suffer for months over punctuation issues in your paperwork (this should be a semi colon, not a comma, rejected do all of it over), and Spookyboss is right about contacting your congressional representatives in fact it might help speed things along if you casually mentioned on your first visit that you'll gladly wait 10 working days for resolution then you are going to call your Senators and Congressional Representatives to have them all look into whats holding things up-Thats what it took to get TANGO-TANGO's paperwork straightened out and done, heavy leaning from the other end of Pennsylvania Ave.

Great news Dave. Have a safe flight bringing it home.
Some FAA types can be real gems. I ran into a couple of them doing ramp checks at Catalina Island one day. I cleared it OK but they were doing their best to strand people 26 miles across the sea.

Raising hell up there has just got us deeper in trouble with Seattle. The boss there is an idiot. He just claims, if shes not happy I cant make her do the permit. Asking around she has a history of being an idiot. She doesnt want any old birds flying, she says they are all safety concerns for the public. She has one of those Hyphenated last names, if you deal with her, youll know, shell correct you that the name is said with both names.
So if you are about to go to WA for a ferry permit, stop yourself, remember the first word out of their mouth will be, " I dont care how many decades you or your mechanic has on airframes, how do I know you know what you are doing?"..." Ive got 3 weeks hands on knowledge and Im pretty proficent at what I do!"

at most FSDOs, the guy who does the permits is the low man on the totem pole. When I call in, I ask for one of the more experianced maint inspectors, I then explain who I am, what I need to do, and my time line. I make first contact 2 weeks to a month before I need the permit. Most thank me for contacting them so early, and finding out what they want to see for the permit. Most contact them as they are setting on the ramp and ready to go, then complain because it is taking them too long to get a permit. Just before I am ready to leave, I again contact the inspector and tell them the permit app is on the way and I will then fax it from home, or from where ever the plane is. I have never failed to have a permit in my hand when the plane was ready to go.
I had more trouble getting a permit on a Tri-pacer than I ever have had getting one for a warbird.

I did try to let them know in advance, I had waited 5 months and she still hasnt inputted any paperwork. No response, and she kept saying Ill get back to you everytime we contacted her.

Aircraft Reached Montana and has cleared inspection. Is now enroute to Nevada.
Aircraft requires Zero trim input and motors are running excellent. Oil levels barely changed in the 2.5 hour flight. Tuning is excellent.

WE DID IT! Shes home at Camarillo! Thanks for all the support fellow WIXers. She landed at Camarillo at 12:05pm today. Her oil burn rate was superb and the plane flew fantastic with no trim input!
Heres a couple of photos, and remember, we are looking for volunteers to help this winter to finish the annual and strip the inside for some new paint and restoration.
