Did you pick that up at TOM? I remember seeing one very close to that one.

Someone else bought the tool box for the contents, but didn't really want the box so a deal was struck. Original seller said his dad bought it home with him at the end of WWII.
It may well be the one you saw as I'm getting it from a guy in Michigan.
Going to use it from my Merlin, P&W & Wright tools :)

Holy crap, my dad has that exact toolbox, except its been painted all black sometime in the past. He picked it up a few years ago to (what else?) carry his tools around to jobsites. I had no idea it had any military connections though...

Not sure if you already know this, but those last three pictures are valve adjusting tools. Just FYI.

Gary: Yup, I know what the tools are, thats why I got them last week. The place with the tools just bought 5 tons of aircraft tooling.... I'll be going back when they have it sorted.

Pratt and Whitney valve adjusting.
I need one as one of the tangs for fitting in the slot on the adjuster is broke off. Some gorilla in the past didn't loosen the nut before trying to turn the adjuster. That was on the R-1340. I believe R-2800 is the same IIRC. Don't know on the R-1830, R-2000 or R-4360.

They had a few more of them, including one that had just come back from the platers that was all shiny & spiffy etc. I'll get the phone # of the place for ya next week if you'd like?
