 Post subject: Another P-38 Recovery
PostPosted: Sun Jun 06, 2004 12:26 am
I was wondering the other day about possible P-38 recoveries. And one question that has always come to mind has been why hasn't any other organizations or individuals gone back to Greenland to retrieve any of the remaining P-38's? Another was that several years I read an article about the conclusion of WW2. In the article it talked about multiple upon multiple P-38's had their booms pinched and were buried at the end of the runway at Clark AFB P.I.. These buried P-38's fascinate me to no end. The pontential of recovering and restoring actual multiple combat veterans let alone the possibility for alot of hard to find spare parts amazes me. If anyone has any good information about future Greenland expiditions or whether there is any truth to the Clark AFB P-38's I would be really interested in hearing about it. Keep History Flying

It's a real shame that everyone isn't enthusiastic about preserving History. It's not just American history or Allies history it's the world history. And i can only hope the the world will become more proactive in retieveing preserving these and other lil treasure troves of times long since gone be fore they disappear. Keep History Flying.

Hi all

Col Rohr
My wife is moving to the Phillipines for a couple of years next month and I will be there on and off over thet time. I would like to persue this one as a WIX project so I would appreciate as much info about all of this as possible including if possible photos and maps as well as details or accounts of what went on.

Kindest regards
John Parker

How did you plan to get the moose urine pudding to pass thru customs?

It's just amaizing what can happen with an up turned palm and the wink of an eye! Besides Moose Urine Pudding is nothing! I'll have to tell you about the Pair of Pheasant or the Pickled Piglets over a Moxie some time!

Seems I must have caused the Colonel displeasure! I've been demoted! It's tuff when he tears off two stripes at once!

Quite right too . He performed with exceptional courage during your recent indisposition with the Hippies in the California campaign. He even confided to me that if push came to shove he was prepared to let you pay the ultimate sacrifice. You clearly inspire true leadership in those around you.

Kindst regards
John

You know better then that, Rob. That would mean unautherised work was being done, AND WE CAN'T CONDONE WORK GETTING DONE and moving AHEAD. It's a far better to sit around and wait for the GOLDEN FLEECE to fall in your lap(with a couple of exceptions). And now that they have sold the Acro-Sport bi-plane, Carl wants it out of there yesterday, I guess so they can stuff more trash in the back bay! OH WELL, WE TRIED!
