Warbird Information Exchange

To go along with Jacks thread on the A2A of the Pravateer I decided to download the interior shots I took earlier in the year. The outside shot of the nose you can see the water mark around the bottom of the 30 to give you an idea of how much was under water.







A few more will be on the way!

Here's the remaining to show. My co-worker Brian got into one of the turrets and he stands about 5'10 and it was very difficult and tight for him to sit in. I'm thinking they musta used short guys to go in the turrets Thoughts Sorry I didn't feel like spacing them.

I am amazed...I have seen this airplane a few times over the years and I always felt that there was virtually no progress all that time. All I could see were the new engines and the turrets.

But there has been a BUNCH of work done! Very nice.

You aint kidding there Zane Just look at all the hydraulic plumbing in the side and tail turrets alone And they will be operational

P.S. How much damage was done to this aircraft by the water?

I've seen too many airplanes destroyed by the term "Static Restoration."

Here ya go Curtis, these were all I took plus the nose shot. As far as damage doneI really don't know, some of the Lonestar boys that are on the board can probably tell better than me.

Thanks for posting these amazing pics of an amazing restoration. Hope the water has not done too much damage. The work that has been completed so far looks absoluteley top notch. I never realised that the waist blisters were actually fully enclosed turrets before, I thought they were more like the Catalina blisters. Thanks again.

MANY Thanks for posting the shots of the blister turrets (or whatever their proper name is). I have never seen the inside of them before and am amazed.

My first visit to LSFM was in 1995 when they had just finished stripping out the inside of this bird and had just started cleaning the inside.
Fantastic work, as always, by the LSFM gang.

Y'all are welcome, I knew not everybody here has seen the inside of this bird or any others and maybe it will help out the modelers?
