I've been away from a while from keeping up with the warbird chat. What's new? Recoveries, restorations, movements, other interesting stuff(last 2 months)? I've read through at least 3 pages on this forum. Thanks

Well, the NHC has a new name, and some new leadership for one thing.

Cavenaugh has a new plane:

Two Doolittle Raiders died over the Thanksgiving week.

A C-47 is nearing flight in TX:

Some folks have been working on a Harpoon - look for poster IndyJen to find that thread.

Oh, and there was a warbird gathering in Fredericksburg this weekend :D!

What else folks?

The P-47 "Dottie Mae" brought up from the bottom of a lake in Austria two years ago or so is now owned by Jack Croul. The P-38 "Putt Putt Maru" is now owned by Tom Freidkin. Those are just a couple off the top of my head.

I was gonna mention that in my post but since you have a "healthy" obsession with N3N's I thought I'd leave it to you! :P

The Southern California warbird central has now moved to South Texas.

If ya wanna see the most warbirds in a small area. South Texas is now the place.

Except...............they are all secret owners.

The secret owners may have had a convention in Fredricksburg last week or maybe not. If I told you then it wouldn't be a secret.

Has this been confirmed? I thought that the new owner of "Dottie Mae" didn't want it to be released yet. This is the first time I've heard this, so I assume "the cat is out of the bag" now?
