Still no joy on an image. File cannot be found or some such thing.

It was one of a longish series of shots, including a Stuart still in good shape, and a couple of the old Desert Rats trucks abandoned in place and sandblasted down to clean metal. I suspect it's the real deal.

I spent some time in the horn in 93' and I saw things that were WWII era. I know I saw what I was told was an old Italian tank and it certainly wasn't US make, or German...I don't really know my Italian armor, but it looked badly made enough to be one of their early "works of art"

You can always join the site and look at them yoursleves like I did. THere are lots of munitions, jerry cans, stuff like that as well. Look slike what you find in the desert afer a few years. Only it's old WWII naterial. So yeah, tehre is lots of stuff to be found out tehre.

Thanks for posting the pic.

Sure looks like an Italian IMAM Ro.37bis to me. The Italian Army recovered six in 2006 out of that same junk yard in Kabul that the Hawker Hinds were found.

Here's a couple of links:

Oops! I guess you'll have to just sign up. I couldn't find the actual source location for the photo.

so...why can't you just sign up? It's free, they don't send you junk mail, and it's obviously an interesting site or we wouldn't keep posting all these luscious pics you can't see :p Then if you don't want to see what they have, you can just never go there again :)
