I stumbled across this site while researching a WW2 crash site near where I live.

I have also stumbled across this site. Lots of good information on specific losses over Denmark, both Allied and German, crew/mission information, pictures. Someone did a lot of work on this site.

Really apprecaite this site my cousin John Mulligan RCAF lost his life on 19 April 1944 when Stirling III EH 955 was shot down. Never had seen these amazing pictures of the crew.
May they rest in peace.

I see he was laid to rest in the town of Gram.
I'll have a look next time I drive by there, if I can find the grave.
If I do I'll take a picture of it, so you can see what it looks like.

Thanks for posting an interesting site. Are you any where close to the air base at Skystrup? I flew into there with my C-124 a few times in the early 1960's helping support USAF NATO fighters.

Hi Chief

I'm living in Horsens, which is about 80 km's NNE of Skrydstrup Airbase.

I drive past sometime while visiting custommers.
If I remember correctly Skrydstrup is home to 727 sqn and 730 sqn F-16's.
They also have some EH-101's stationed there.

I see this is an old thread, but thought I'd add...... the pilot was HJ Murray who was my wife's uncle - or would have been had he survived the war.

I am in touch with John Macfarland in Belfast who was the navigator of the aircraft and one of three survivors, and the only one surviving now.

Incidently, the Stirling was shot down by Leutnant Bruno Heilig, one of two he got in 23 minutes that night.
He was killed along with his crew in January 1945 when attempting an emergency landing in a JU 88
