102 as JDK stated is the one and only known surviving 335 and the aircraft currently at U-H


Well I did know that. :)

My shot was taken at 'Silver Hill' in 1972 on my fist trip to the US. I was juggling and conserving b/w film and slide through just one camera. They had kindly pulled the Spitfire out and allowed access on a Sunday...the 335 did not seem that important at the time, hence being in b/w.

the j7w2 was the original plan for the shinden the prop version was an interim version to be used till the jet engine was produced with enough power.
yep it is big almost seafury sized but alot taller as it needed the hight to clear the prop on takeoff(although even then the prototype hit the prop on the ground on the first attempted flight)
