This is outrageous. I barely trust one behind me at a time . . .

Well, I guess that is one way to save on tow fees. How much for a tow....um...divide by nine.....that is so much more reasonable....as long as nobody gets hurt. That just looked dangerous.

I like all the wing runners scattering at the beginning. Sign me up for that!
Some pretty large cpmtrol deflections on the back guys. It sort of reminded me of the mass TO scenes in Catch-22 and the talk of how dangerous they were. Except these guy are all tied together. I don't know how they managed to stay untangled.
Anyone have any idea what that (butt ugly) tug was?

Nevermind . . . just found out it's a Zlin Z-137T, with a Walter turboprop of 500hp.

If they ever do, let me know. I'll try to bring an aerial photographer out. I'm guessing they're just ALMOST crazy enough to try it. That must've been one powerful tug! I'd bet the neighbors wouldn't be to happy though, or some of the residents on the field!

It would be great at Boerne if every glider on the field ties on to a tug and the tug keeps going without a release. I will pay to see that.

Wow! I can feel the love there! Are they doing OK business wise? Need any tug pilots?

I'm not a big glider fan myself, but I've got another friend on the field who tells me if I ever do go I will enjoy it.

Wow... very neat, entertaining, and skilled I'm sure, but I ain't playing that game.
I'm imagining dodging 8 other ropes and 16 wing vortices... and that's just if everything's going right. Now let's throw in the towplane losing the engine at the wrong time, or someone near the front having a rope break/release failure, etc. I'm sure they had contingencies planned out for those events and others I'm not thinking of, but it'd take a darn lot of faith in 9 other guys all doing the right thing at the right time.

I'll second that.

I have friends that do it and I may one day for the experience. I guess I have this particular opinion because "our" glider peeps sometimes don't play well with the power peeps often causing scary moments and harsh words.
