The RCAF acquired one example in 1948 possibly for evaluation purposes. Few details of the type in RCAF service are available and it lasted only one year.

I've always thought that language was a little vague, and not really correct. The RCAF had one Prentice on strength for cold weather testing with WEE Flight. It was not being evaluated for use as a trainer, just to test operations in cold conditions.

Thanks for that Jim, I was wondering if that was the case. Makes more sense that evaluating it against the Chippie as a trainer!

As to cold-weather testing - it's a British aeroplane...

Hey there, thought I have. If anyone has an R-2600-35 that is runnable or an 1830 with a prop, i would trade out right. Or some B-25 parts lots, etc....

Just another way to get this bird to someone who will fly her or finish the restoration and display her and not ahve to change cash.

Thanks
Dave

Wow, I was standing right next to this a/c just last week when I visited the CAF !

Took a few pictures of her while I was walking the ramp with a docent. She looks to be in good shape from the outside... Quite unique !
