A friend asked me to scan this picture of him with his P-40N at the Fighter School, Waycross, GA. 1944. Pictured is 2nd Lt William K. Thomas. Just though some of you might want to see.

Very cool. Ask him if he spent time at Harris Neck AAF on the coast between Savannah and Brunswick GA. There were allot of P40s there but guys who trained there are hard to find.

I'd forgotten there was a field there.
Ask your friend if he ever trained at Dale Mabry.
Some of the best shots of pilots were taken at stateside fields because the best cameras and developing was there, but little of this ever turns up in books because people consider wartime training to be of little historical importance, sadly... :cry:
