I've got a 9 AM woodpecker. His claim to fame is drinking from one of our hummingbird feeders after he bangs on the gutters for a bit.

You got a rare sub-species there.

The Early Riser drinking headbanger. Any photos? :D

Well......he didn't wake me up this morning, but he's generally pretty faithful with his drinking habits. I'll try to get evidence of his prowess, Tulio. He is quite the acrobat.

My buddy was a bit late today. I suppose he overslept. Here is the best photo I could get, shooting through the dining room light fixture, the window shade, and my not-yet-washed window:

Thank you, Scott.

Yup, a Headbanger. This particular one has been rehabed twice so far

One more picture of the Headbanger for Tulio, taken during his morning drinking spree today:

Sorry to pecker-jack this thread......

They make black silhouette stickers that you can stick to your window. It's a hawk outline and will frighten him off, if you feel you really need to. A better idea would be to use some of that self applied tint to darken the window so he can't see his reflection--he's trying to drive the competition off, sounds like.

Cool, Scott.

You have problems with a Headbanger, I have problems with Barn owls.... mom, dad and three chicks found a way inside the air conditioning duct on the apartment next door to mine, and they have messed up the place; it smells badly!

Luckily for me, I am not home, and management is taking care of the cleaning and rehabing of the place

Best thing to do is a 12 ga. If you are in town a 22 with rat shot and a flash light at night works good. (They won't fly off at night). OK all you tree huggers I know they are probably "ENDANGERED" but when you have to repair thousands of dollars worth of damage to your home you won't care.

Lead poisoning is definitely effective. If I can catch my Headbanger I'm going to put a couple of those stickers on him. I probably won't see hide nor feather of him in magazines that way! :hide:
