Fly days at Flying Heritage Collection

Fri Apr 22, 2005 11:03 am

I notice a couple a/c in the line up for fly days (Bf-109E & A6M?). Any body know (and can share) the status of these? I know the 109 had run ups in England a few months ago, is it in the states now?

Any info on the Zero?

How I wish I could be around for several of those dates.
Its great to see such a collection taking to the air! Thanks Paul.

I was up there a few weeks ago but between MoF and visiting family we couldn't make it to the FHC. Next time we go it's going to be scheduled around a flying day - I have to second the sentiments - thanks Paul.

It looks like from their website they expect you to park on the side of the road or airport driveway. I didn't make a trip to that side of the airfield when I was there. You would think the could at least make part of their ramp a spectators area. It would help generate revenue for them for their other restorations. Now they are saying on these dates just go hang around the airport. I don't know what is behind this arrangement. I just seems kind of weird.

The aircraft are flown from the main side of the airport, right in front of the airport diner. If you aren't there early enough to get a seat by the window or on the deck then use your lawn chairs. If they put in bleachers and charged a fee the people who tie diown their airplanes on the ramp would probably complain.

It is a long long long shot now that I will have a chance to be back in the Seattle area anytime soon. If I do I will definitely compare my visit times to these dates.
