I wonder if this is the elusive Thutade Lake B-17 Steve's chasing. He told me at one time he dove on the wreck and stated it was in pristine condition. Turned out to be a lie.

I can't say if he's found something or not, but Steve has led a few people on a wild goose chase more than once so be very careful if you have dealings with him. He's also not welcome in several northern BC communitee's where he has been searching for aircraft and some Government departments won't deal with him. Finally, no matter what he says, he is in it to make money for himself, nothing else.

Brian.

...hmmmm........

A Diver named "Steve" promoting sunken aircraft recoveries for profit?

Diver places Attractive and Enticing advertisements on Barnstormers seeking investors?? for recovery of rare sunken warbirds.

Diver claims sunken warbirds are confidently found in pristine condition and successfully dived on,

but others claim these turn out to be less than reliable "finds" or even outright lies????

I think I heard this all before with the "DiveTheWorld" experience??

yet that UK diver passed away 2 years ago??

,..... has he risen from the dead,
or did he just change his name and move to Canada??,

...is he re-incarnated or spiritually possessing someone???
or is someone just "re-incarnating" his business model?

Photos "might" evidence some substance, although in that UK example sonar side scans of sunken Sunderlands and P-47's available for recovery were also provided as evidence, making it onto the Diver's website and even the front page of newspapers, until their similarity to airfix models that had been photoshopped and reverse imaged, became debated in the warbird community.

Obviously this Canadian diver "may" have found something, and "may" be above board? and obviously has no relationship to the deceased UK Diver, other than a same first name and similar diving and aircraft recovery interests, and hopefully that is where the similarities stop!

There are obviously sunken wrecks still out there to be found, and honest divers capable of finding them and recovering them, hopefully these claims are true, and the diver honest and reliable?

But clearly with Brian's experience/comments above, and past experience of other "diver recoveries" in the UK and elsewhere, any interested parties should be very "Buyer Beware"!,

Dont hand over the piggy bank in a hurry! without strong evidence and a second opinion!

regards

Mark Pilkington

I am all for it. I probably have two of them by now : )

Now, just let me find a piggy bank, to fill it up and then crack it open, to deliver the $$ to the Explorer/diver/deceased/airplane rescuer himself. : )
