I don't think she actually flew...

That looks like a colo(u)rized old black and white photograph from the 1940's.

Nice try!

Cheers,

David

P.S. I'm totally kidding! That's a great photo! I bet it would look really great if it was done in black and white or sepia and maybe photoshop it a bit to reduce the quality of the shot. Anyone got the time to try that?

Maybe also add in a hand written comment like:

"An 'Ol Lanc coming back from a training mission. May 12/44"

Good news.

Re the (lovely) pic being replicated as a 'Somewhere in Licolnshire' type item - The North Americano barn in the middle of the pic is a bit of a 'which continent' givaway...

Only thing it is missing is the big white blobs that the censors slapped on to cover "sensitive" markings, aerials, unit designators......whatever they felt like blacking out!!!

You could always say "A brand-new Victory Lancaster on final at Malton Airport"

But then of course brand new Mk X's wouldn't have had its turrets installed there, maybe Victory Bonds Tour?...

Is the Lancaster coming to any events in the US other than KOSH?

It's going to be at Thunder - KYIP on July 18-19.
