Thu May 28, 2009 7:44 am

Every year we have an "open house" here at KPDK with an air show. This year is shaping up to be the best ever. Admission is free, $5.00 for parking, ya can't beat a deal like that. Weather looks like it will be good. Hope to see some of you local WIXer's. I will be with Team Aeroshell. Come on out! :D

CAF Dixie Wing Will Be There At PDK As Well

Hey there Robbie...nice you posted something for the PDK event.

The CAF Dixie Wing will be there as well with our P-51, C-45, LT-6 and PT-26 for static and rides. I'll head over to see you guys sometime during the morning. The AeroShell team always does a great job at the press days I run with the Great Georgia Air Show.... :o

BTW, Im with a global consulting firm (Tiger Woods commercials) and have been at Shell the past two years.

I just realized that the air show poster does not mention the Dixie Wing. I sure did want that left out. :)

I think its kinda funny, and also sad, that they're celebrating 50 years of NAS Atlanta, and it's closing this year. I worked at NAS for 12 years, from 1989 to 2001. They've already moved the static aircraft at the NAS entrance to the new air museum in Marietta. The NAS facility is being turned over to the Georgia National Guard.

When Mike Van Wie was putting together the lineup and advertising we were unsure which of our planes were going to be there.

Either way Im sure Ill get quite a workout hauling kids into the P-51 for cockpit tours. A great upper body workout! :spit2

We had a good show with good weather yesterday. Sorry I missed some of you that stopped by the Aeroshell Team to see me, but I was a busy boy. If anyone got any pics from the show, please post them, like I said I was a little busy. The Dixie Wing had some nice aircraft on display in their area, with a lot of people down there, hope they made a little money.

Hey there Robbie...regrets I missed you over at the Aeroshell area. For a while there was almost nobody there and then whooosh! Someone opened the flood gates and there were throngs of people.

We did hours of cockpit tours for kids of all ages; I spent at least 2 hours on the PT-26 lifiting kids into the front seat. Sort of tough to sell rides at this event but we like coming anyway.

Hope to see the Aeroshell team at the Great Georgia Airshow in the fall...
