I look forward to meeting up with any WIX member who wants to say G'day!

Not sure if I'll be able to make Zack's cookout (izat like a barbecue? ;) ) as I think I'm double booked on Thurs eve already, but I'll see what can be done, as it sounds like a must do to me.

If you are going to be there, see you there!

Cheers

Awesome!!! Hope to run across you at some point. You can always find me in Warbirds doing security at sunset.

And I'll be hanging out by the Pitcairn or the Pietenpols (80th anniversary this year) most of the week-

Sad to report that I have just decided the Yellow Rose B-25 will not be going to Oshkosh this year. We had big plans, but some minor, and one I consider major, maintenance items have turned up again. The big major one is the control cables. I just got off the phone with our maintenance officer and learned that not only have rusty and frayed cables been found, but there are several frozen pulleys, some with severe cuts worn in them.

In order to keep the maintenance team from feeling they are under pressure to make a deadline, I'm taking Oshkosh off the table this year. We should be there, and everywear next year!!!

I was looking forward to seeing you guys there, but like you said this is the safe call. SOmetime the safe route is not the easiest or most popular. YOu did the right thing, and because of it we can see this B-25 next year and the year after that

A bummer but there's no need to rush things. Oshkosh isn't going anywhere and it gives us something to look forward to in 2010.

Unless something changes, I'll be there the 26th-29th. I'm tasked with helping the Granley Family keep things together for their performance during the airshows. Well, that and just goof off.

I find it amusing that I see them here all the time now yet seeing them in Oshkosh is gonna be one of my highlights of the show. Seriously guys, don't miss 'em. Even if you're not into aerobatics you can't deny that their show sounds awesome!

As of writing, here is the plan for the Canadian Warplane Heritage at Oshkosh. The Westland Lysander, piloted by Rick Rickards, is scheduled to make its first appearance at an "away" air show and is to be featured on Aeroshell Square for the whole week. Also on Aeroshell Square (until mid-Friday) will be the Avro Lancaster. On the warbird line will be the B-25 Mitchell (departing Thursday), Dakota (departing Thursday) and Beech 18 (whole week). That's the schedule right now but I'm sure it will change tomorrow! Be sure to drop by Aeroshell Square and say hello.
