I didn't want to hijack the WestPac Thread, but in Taighs last photo you can see the dome shaped IN-81 Insulator below:

Does anyone know of a source for these Insulators?

Thanks!

I have a few but the problem is that they are buried in the storage hangar so I will not be able to get to them for a while. I will give you one when I do come across them though.

A quicker source might be Fair Radio in Lima Ohio.

We need some of them as well. Donations would be much appreciated (but I'll buy 'em myself and donate 'em if necessary).

We also need about a bazillion of those little ceramic bead insulators.

Cheers,

Dean,
There are companies that make new ceramic fish spline beads. If you want to stay original just keep an eye out on ebay they show up every now and then with radios etc.

Yep, been watching eBay. Those little beads go for staggering prices! We just don't have the spare cash at the moment. I've thought about using plastic or even wooden beads until the correct ones can be procured. The public would probably never know the difference, and as for the warbird geek know-it-all types, well, if they gripe about the non-original parts, I'll just politely ask, "And where is YOUR concours-correct B-17G?"

When ya gonna bring that lovely Stinson down to the VFM hangar to show her off? We're not that far away, y'know. . . 8)

Cheers,

I'm in Nashville at school right now, so I can't visit you all until a break, but I will do so very soon! Dean, I'll look through my records and find the name of the company that makes the ceramic fish spline beads VERY similar to those of WWII. Less expensive too.
