Dunsfold display photos

Sun Jun 05, 2005 2:17 am

I thought that some of you might like to see some photos from yesterday's display at the former Hawker airfield at Dunsfold, which closed in 1992. Yesterday's show was a one-off organised by the Brooklands Museum, hopefully it was enough of a success to encourage them to hold more in the future.

There was a mainly Hawker theme to the show. The Spitfire and Hurricane pair was a first, the only 2 surviving airworthy Allied Battle of Britain survivors in the air together, Peter Vacher's recently restored Hurricane I R4118, and the RAF's Spitfire II P7350.

Enjoy........

Mike,

Excellent photo's ! Especially the formation shots of the Hurricanes. This may sound dumb, but what is the early Royal Navy jet ?? My mind is drawing a blank at the moment.
