Mike -
It was great seeing Yellow Rose back in the air. The Bomber segment was one of the best of the show. It was also great seeing the P-39 as well.

Thanks! It was great to have her back as well. Making Airsho was a big goal, as was doing our first load of ride-for-hire.
We were thinking of bringing her (and the P-39) home on Thursday, but I'm going to push for bringing the Rose home on Saturday. Brownwood has their quarterly BBQ fly-in that day, so we might be able to stop in and sell some PX and cockpit tours, and possibly rides, without having to burn much more fuel.

You really need to do that Saturday plan.........

<she said with an evil grin and ulterior motive>
BTW the planes both look great and it was really good to see Yellow Rose there

The point of the branding is not whether you notice the airplane, it is that you notice the organization it belongs to.
Exactly my point all this time. It isn't the airplane they give a hoot about at the corporate offices, it's the "brand". The airplane is just a mobile billboard to sell the marketing scheme. This is the last I'll ever say about those stickers.
Scott the former "Colonel"
I not only think that comment is unfair, it is just plain uninformed.
Scott please tell me where you think
I wasn't going to reply, but feel it important to clarify.
I am only a greasy airplane mechanic. I couldn't possibly "think", be "unfair", or "uninformed", as I am only someone to step over or around while the Colonels show off "their" airplanes. I was only part of the pesky overhead costs. Sorry I attempted to have an opinion about things that I couldn't possibly have the ability to understand.
Scott the chastened.

I think a smaller one on the tail, is the best looking one. Now that one on FiFi Holy Sh*t do you think they could have made that one a little bigger so I can see it from 30,000 feet! WOW!
Corporate branding, is a terrible thing for a warbird it is like a model with a black eye, she looks cute, but it distracts her overall appearance.

How do you find out about the Brownwood quarterly Fly-in? I've been wanting to get together a gaggle of L-5's up there sometime and that sounds like a good excuse. Can't go this weekend, though.

I'd already thought of that Karen! The only problem will be finding enough plane seats for us all. Hey, you might want to stop at BWD (Brownwood) with us for the BBQ lunch! It's 11am to 1pm. I'm sure they would be thrilled to see two warbirds on their ramp.

And yet FiFi flew for many, many years with "Confederate Air Force" in massive black block letters that extended from just behind the Cockpit to just in front of the rear sighting bubbles....
Guys, "Brands" have been a part of the warbird movement for many, many years in many ways. Why is it that it was "okay" back in the 1970s but not now?
One must identify themselves or be lost amongst the masses. In addition, one must thank those whom make their operation possible. In the case of the Collings Foundation, they put the names on their airplanes. In the case of the CAF, they put one name on the side of the plane in the form of the decal to represent all of the members of the CAF that help in many ways to keep all of the CAF's aircraft in the air.

I wonder if magnetic sign sheeting has enough "grip" mounted in a fabric or cowling etc. location? Using 2 sheets with
the mounting surface sandwiched in between? Just a thought...

Enough raggin' on Taylor. The work done on his L-5 shows he cares about authenticity. It also shows that he has a reasonably balanced view since he doesn't want it on his plane, but doesn't mind it on the CAF aircraft.

Hey buddy..I wasn't "ragging on Taylor"! I was offering a practical solution! He could maintain his faithful restoration
AND display the tramp stamp when he saw fit.
I got no dog in the tramp stamp hunt..It beats the h*ll out of the old white/red/blue scheme AND gets the point across.

Sorry, shouldn't have left the quote in there. It was a general across-the-bow shot, not intended to target you.

That is doable if I can get there
