Looks like a bit of a fixer-upper, kudos to the gent for electing to preserve history and not just cash in. Looks like a long ways to go, but one has to start somewhere.

Yes, a long way to go, and it will be interesting to see how we did 'fixer-uppering'-wise. Wonder how many 'bits' of 361st show-up over the coming months. At least they will be remembered for their efforts.

Gary.

Thanks Gary for posting this.

The Bottisham Airfield Memorial Group has been formed to preserve the airfield's history.

There is a fair bit of work to do on the building but nothing too serious.

In the meantime we are getting some good exhibits pledged including uniforms, crash relics, photographs and original Bottisham murals.

In the meantime the stars & stripes have been flown in Bottisham for the first time in a long while.

We hope to have some fund raising events soon such as a guided walk of the airfield - keep watching www.361fg.com for updates.

Cheers

I'll keep an eye-out for the airfield walks, and I bet that was a 'proud' moment, when the 'Stars and Stripes' appeared !! Keep up the good work.
The outside paint as 'arrived' here, so see you soon.
