I was by Ellington yesterday taking a peek to see what is parked out front of SW Services. There were two EA-6B's.
Rick,
I noticed that the Skyhawk had its nose poking out of the hangar with the canopy open. Is the Phantom flying?? It would be nice to see it fly during the Vietnam reenactment.

The P-39 should be there with Ron Iberg at the controls. She required a little maintenance after Midland, but Maintenance Officer Ray Clausen just told me that she should be good to go by Friday!
Unfortunately there's not ramp space or fuel for any of the rest of us from San Marcos.

I had a great time at WOH!
Got to see Rick (briefly, he was a busy guy) Karen (O-2), Don (B-24), Don (Texas Raiders), Pete ( BomberFlight) Ryan (Short) and Brad (C-17)
There were more Wixer's there for sure but we are hard to spot in the crowd of 100,000 plus other people.
Enjoyed dinner with the Gulf Coast Wing folks, they made me fell very welcome! (thanks Don for the invite! )

Did the '39 have to abort?
Good to see you Zane!

Ron Iberg told me that the 39 had to have the engine pulled because of a gearbox issue and they couldn't finish in time. He brought one of the Kates instead.

Sorry I didn't get to visit with anyone. This event is a big deal for CF-Houston, and this was the first year we've ever had two aircraft flying in the show. I hade a lot of folks pulling on me and I was pretty focused on having our flying aircraft up and ready to go when AirBoss called for them. We felt that it was very important to show the locals that we could smoothly integrate a vintage jet into the Viet Nam setpiece. I think we did OK, nobody had to wait on us, and we were on time and in place when called !

Im always trying to get friends and coworkers to come out to any local show here in the Houston area.
A coworker said that he bought his family tickets to the show on Sunday and when he finally got to the ground after sitting in line for quite sometime they were denied entry. They couldnt even park off grounds and walk in. They tried to get in around 1400.
Im glad that there were huge turnouts for both days. I just dont think they've expected this many people. In the 25 yrs of me being at the show...Ive never seen the parking lots that full.
