Mr. Who??

Sun Jun 12, 2005 12:33 am

Hey Gents:

I've noticed the Board's been awfully serious lately. So what do you think would happen if Mr. Bean was a warplane pilot? How would he fly? What would happen? How long would he live? Would he fit in with some of the high strung folks? How would he and RER get along? Let's hear it.

Robert Bean is also credited for saving many warbirds flying today

Rob, quit being serious. If Chris wanted to know about Robert Bean he would have asked about Robert Bean.

What he did ask about was.....

Mr. Bean

Chris, Mr Bean would not fly a plane. He would instead strap something for a wing to the top of his mini.

He would, of course, put something nasty in the boot to drop on the enemy.

And as for getting along with Rob, thats a no brainer. He would love Rob because he would think he was Teddys big brother.

i figured that chris was goofing on the actor from the movie, but i gotta thank rob for his enlightenment, i never heard of the real robert bean, or his accomplishments. thanks colonel rob!!

Hi Al:

Thanks for those photos, Mr. Bean is cool.

It took me about 45 minutes of googling to put those four together. There are not a lot of Mr. Bean photos out there that are of any quality or sufficient size to post and make my point.

And as for what would happen? It would be the usual disaster of course

I never liked Mr. Bean. However, I think Edmund BlackAdder is awesome!

Hi O.P.

Yeah, I couldn't remember his real name, but yeah I think so too. Mr. Bean isn't his best role, but he sure rocked in that Shakespearean comedy (I didn't get the name).

O.P.

Just remember to stick some pencils up your nose and say Wibble.

Wow, good military bearing. How about with RAF flight gear?

Sun Jun 12, 2005 2:17 pm

Sorry Chris. So far as I know there was never a Blackadder series with Edmund Blackadder being in the R.A.F., just the trenches of WW1. (hence the pencil remark. It gets you off the frontlines and sent to the rear for psychiatric evaluation......or you get shot for being a coward, whichever they decide first)

Hi Al:

That sounds about right. So was he shot, or evaluated? :)

He very quickly pulled the underwear of his head and the pencils out of his nose when he heard the bit about being shot.

Baldrick and BlackAdder did fly in one episode in WW1. I have all of the DVD's I'll have to watch it again, But I think the "Cunning Plan" was to land in enemy teritory and sit out the war safe in prison camp. Of course, the greatest pilot of all time, Lord Flashheart, saves them. That episode produced one of the greatest quotes of the whole series,

Lord Flashheart: "You should treat your aircraft like you treat your woman.

Captain Blackadder: "So you should take your plane out to dinner and a movie?

Lord Flashheart: "No, get in her 5 times a day and take her to heaven and back!

It's been a long time since I have seen them and now that you mention it, I do remember that episode. :spit2

(forgive the Spit. It's the closest thing Scott has)
