Hi all,

I worked again today at Geneseo. I got there and was surprised to see a T-33 unloading from a trailer. There were also anotehr T-33 in the hanger. That one is apparantly going to be on static display at HAG. The others(a total of 4) will be stored at Geneseo and sold.
I spent the day cleaning the office and gift shop. I dusted all the model cases and shelves. It looks great and everyone said I did a good job.

Another highlight was giving a tour to a WWII B-26 pilot. His name on his jacket read 2LT. Robert Shooks I beleive. He never saw combat. He trained on B-26's then was told to fly the plane to the boneyard. Aparently the war had ended. He was very nice and I think he really enjoyed looking at all the warbirds and remembering his youth. I was really honored. He was really glad that people are out there still flying them and caring for them. Again it was an honor for me to give him a tour. 8)

On with a few pics.

Enjoy,
Nathan

Sorry Nathan, these have nothing to do with AMARC. They're Canadian.

Not totally sure then. I thought that is what I was told. But I edited my post so no one gets out inaccurate facts! :Hangman:

 Good stuff. So will HAG receive the funds from the sold T-33's? Id try to have the CASC buy one, but we already have one I'm afraid.

Boy is that Hangar looking great! So is the 17. How is the overall structure of Memphis Belle BTW?

Yes, it's amazing how quickly they bolted together all those bits that were spread all over the restoration hangar floor at Dayton.............

The Movie Memphis Belle received a new paint job a few months ago. It looks great let me tell you! It's got the correct olive drab too!

No other info on the T-33's. Just that the 4 of the 5 will be sold. They are not owned by HAG and will not get any money from them when sold. HAG will recieve one for static display.

Thats all the info I have folks. I am just glad Geneseo is getting some aircraft . Even if most of those are just for short term storage.

I plan on continuing to clean up the place when I can get up there. Again I really cleaned up the office and gift shop pretty good. During the spring I plan on fixing up the entrance sign, repainting it and the prop and laying down some red mulch around the fixture. I plan to foot the bill myself. Also I want to ask Austin if I can repaint the office walls and maybe get some prints reframed and hung.

Thanks,
Nathan

Na mike it's easy to tell. The one in Dayton has patches and holes from damage it recieved on 25 combat missions over Europe.

Were these flyers that were taken apart to get out of Canada due to mechanical issues, runway or base closing issues? Are they going to be flyers again once put back together?

I seem to recall that these were being brokered by the folks from MARC (not to be confused with AMARC) who, with the B-17 and the A-20, seem to be putting down roots at Geneseo as a depot for their ops. Several CT-33's came out of Mountainview (or was it Trenton?) a few years ago and were ferried to Maine and NH... some are still there I think. These ones must have been those that couldn't leave under their own power.
