How about F2H Banshee (BuNo 126417) in a children’s park, Oteen, North Carolina? This is a listing from a newsletter from 04 by everyone's favorite, TIGHAR. Sorry (don't want to start a brouhaha here). Just asking, as this is the only spot I found mention of another example this bird "in the wild".

Please tell me more! I have created a "place holder" Location Dossier for now until I can find more information...

Neither Joe Baugher's site or Scramble list this airframe, so I have my doubt it exists. If anyone knows anything about this bird please let me know.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Mike - According to Leslie Hunt's 4th Revised Edition of Veteran and Vintage Aircraft - 1974, it shows the F2H at the park. Michael Blaugher's Guide to Over 900 Aircraft Museums, 21st & 25th Editions shows nothing in Oteen. Looks like another MIA

You say it "shows" that aircraft? Is this a photo or just a list? There was a jet warbird at a recreation park in Oteen, NC. I thought it was a T-2. That aircraft disappeared sometime after 1984.

Does it confirm the BuNo mentioned above?

Any chance you got a photo or know someone who has one? I bet there is a shoebox or two "out there" with some great evidence.

I remember the F2H being there in the early '70s (I played on it). I have no idea what happened to it. :(
