I've been keeping my eye on this blog and suddenly I thought probably some WIXers would like it too. It is written by a pilot that flew in the Congo and now is flying support for the US Army in one of their theaters of war (I quite didn't understand yet where)

This guy is flying out of Iraq, I'm guessing for M7 or Blackwater (Excuse me, Xe services now).

I bet if you cut a few things out, changed a few words and names, you could be reading some American or British pilot's advice in the North African Campaign.

A lot of good advice for pilots in general. Pay attention, save fuel, plan ahead, be aware, be nice to ground control, have contingency plans in place at all times and be COOL in all situations! You don't have to be being shot at to have a problem and meet the ground in an unpleasant manner! Gravity ALWAYS wins the energy management game!

True stuff here, some of it sad but true. Great snapshot of current ops in OIF. This guy has a fantastic attitude as well, wish I could maintain his POV.

Thanks for sharing

Yes, thank you for sharing that. This guy really ought to be a widely published writer, he sure is gracefully concise:

".......remember you only have to miss by a little bit. Don't get excited and throw the airplane into a situation worse than the one you were trying to avoid."

In the blog, he is talking about the Predator, unmanned UAV (friendly), not NVA or VC to which you were probably referring to.
