According to the label (shown in this thread: http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=33699) the aviation Simple Green leaves no residue, i.e. corrosion inhibitor.

From further reading I've done I think the problem with the supermarket variety was the pH level.
