James, Are there any plans on restoring the P-47 anytime soon?

That is the P-51 that shot down a C-47 to save them from the Japanese is it not?

Yep, that's the one. The pilot's story is really great, 8 German and Italian kills, escapee from an Italian POW camp, one Japanese kill and the C-47 shoot down. And best of all it won't be yet another 8th Air Force plane.
Pat,
The P-39 is next after that will either be one of the P-40s or the P-47. Haven't made up our minds yet.

Two. One is a K and one is a N.

Thanks for the info on the RF-101H. I'll bet it was sent to Arkansas, their ANG unit flew that model until '72, so it would be the perfect display for them.

I have some time in working on that N model when it was in Pittsburgh. I'd love to see it together.

Anything being done to the AT-9?

I would really like to see the Razorback Jug completed, but I am happy that the B-36 got the TLC needed.

Not right now, no.

Sounds like the only US plane from WW2 the museum doesn't have is a P-38. I know of a real good candidate to close that gap. It sits on a pedestal in New Jersey! Wishful thinking I guess.

Didn't they trade one to the French, who promptly burned it?

It was actually an F-5E 44-53247 that was in the USAFM holdings at the time. Since it was on loan to Pima the AFM decided to loan to the French as a good will gesture, where it burned up in a fire.
