Didn't want to hijack the Mustang thread.
The R&D Hanger has some interesting planes!

'Interesting' things in the hanger? Where and when were those taken? I see a YF-12, the XC-142, XB-70, P-59, a polished late P-51, an F-5/T-38, and the nose of a NAVAJO? and is that 'little Henry' hanging from the rafters, and what is the delta vertical in the far background?

These were taken this past weekend in the R&D Hanger at the USAF Museum, Wright Patterson Base, Dayton, Ohio.
Haven't been there for many a year and visited 1/23/10 with a bunch of Buddies. Returned this past weekend to see all I missed the first trip. Friday is the only day the Restoration Hanger is open and Friday night was the special "Open Cockpit Night". This is where they roll up the ramps to 16 of their exhibits and open the canopies for look'n & picture tak'n!. Saturday we toured the Presidential Hanger and the R&D Hanger. Check out my other recent posts.

I believe my great uncle built that engine. :D He was one of the "Top Dogs" in assembly at Lycoming.
