This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Thank you for the link. The B-25 being one of my favorites of WWII-era aircraft, this sounds like it will be a great event, and with that many bombers in attendance, fingers crossed, I can't wait to see the flyover. Checking on the CAF Minnesota Wing website recently, I can tell you that Miss Mitchell is slated to be in attendance.

I had just been thinking about heading up to Urbana to see how the CAM was getting along with their B-25's engine change. I know they were hoping to have it done sometime this month in time for the reunion. Besides the NMUSAF, Grimes Field will also be the place to be at as they plan to stage the aircraft there and conduct formation fly-over rehearsals.
Anyone know of any other non-B-25 aircraft that plan on attending? Any Fighter escorts?

Wonder if they will beat our record of 16 in a formation and then we had 16 in a line for the beak,

Would be cool if they could paint the Hornet's outline on the runway, to reenact the take off (atleast in distance).

Shay,
I hope you plan on posting some of your pictures from this event. Maybe even post some of your video on "You Tube" for all us less fortunate who aren't able to attend.

Sounds good on paper but I doubt many owners want to run the engines that hard or goof around with the yoke technique required to emulate the carrier takeoff. No telling what the headwind component might be, but it's hard to beat what they had in '42. Marking the Hornet distance would probably only serve as a disappointment.

I don't see any owners wanting to flog their engines to attempt that sort of thing! It would be cool if a Hollywood set company or even a sign company could dummy up a nice silhouette of the Hornet's island as a backdrop, but I guess the $$$$ would be better spent on AvGas!
