American Aircraft Military History

Wed Jul 06, 2005 7:30 am

Hi,

I'm currently working on charting the history of a Stearman I've been working on for a little while and have started flying. Whilst we have all the civilian log books I have no military history for the aircraft. Can anybody point me in the right direction so as to give me a starting point?

Many Thanks

What is the c/n? From that we can come up with the s/n (book "Boeing Aircraft Since 1916). Using the s/n you can contact the historical agencies for either the USN or USAF.

Yak11 Fan,

Ken Wilson is a Stearman historian here in the states that can provide a military history for your aircraft. I had him do a history of my Stearman a couple of years ago, and I believe he charged $ 30. Try him at idora@sigecom.net

If you have not joined the Stearman Restorers Association yet, I think that you would find a wealth of knowledge, both on the forum board and from the quarterly journal.
