What a beautiful aircraft !

As I always say, nothing is better than a Mustang showing historical markings applied with an accuracy spirit.
And nothing can beat too natural aluminium.... on a natural aluminium aircraft, so much prettier than all these WWII aircrafts with grey glossy paint !

Both when Bernie Jackson owned it, and now, I have really liked the bare metal finish on it - just clean, not polished - it is great to see the wing properly profiled as well, and painted silver. Now with the 78th FG markings applied, it looks quite a lot similar to the finish that TFC's "Twilight Tear" had/has - if only now, at Chino, it was painted up in its old markings, and could be flown, it would be a very neat sight alongside Buzzin Cuzzin.

Does anyone know if Mr. Spengler still lives in Chicago?

I was extremely fortunate to meet and fly with Robert Garriot (Buzzin' Cuzzin' owner) last Friday. He came up to Bedford Ma. to get basic formation flying instruction at one of the FBO's I fly out of. I flew as his wingman/lead (we switched off so he could get experience with both). We flew Friday, Monday and Tuesday and had a great time.

Thing was - I was emailed asking if I was available for a bunch of formation training flights, to work with a guy by the name of Robert Garriot. I said sure - but the name didn't mean a thing to me (being basically ignorant of the outside world). So I show up Friday and start to talk with this guy, and I find out he owns a P-51!!!! And then over time I find out a lot more.

A very amiable and interesting fellow; good stick, learns fast, a pleasure to fly and talk with.
